Reviews revisited – the work in progress

 In cleaning up the clutter on my computer, I found a review of Talking to Nightlights that I had saved and filed away. Suggestions on how I could better present the topic were late in coming but appreciated none the less.

There is a reason I misfiled this review. To sum up: the reviewer – without mincing words – suggested I cut some of the personal process and tidy up the writing… make it a bit leaner.

I did some mincing on those recommended specifics in this version.

So – if the book goes on in another form - I can still do that. No doubt it would improve the selling points and make the message more commercially appealing. I have yet to do that. My experiences and the people who have connected to me as a result of what I shared have given me even more avenues of conscious awakening to explore and assurance that there are others who know exactly what I have undergone as they are having similar experiences in the rocking boat.

So it was what I needed to do at the time. The book is about sharing the very first transitioning steps of a profound, life-changing spiritual metamorphosis.    

As it stands now when you read it, it might be helpful to know that I chose to include some of the personal process in my book because I knew there would be others like me who had not been exposed nor prepared for this kind of metaphysical – supernatural – paranormal event and might appreciate hearing how it can just start…for absolutely no reason… and then shake up the very core of your life foundation.

It would have been better I suppose to have cut the excess description and make a tidier story but this metaphysical, spiritual awakening stuff doesn’t happen neat and tidy. When it happens, the world shifts, reality cracks and you undergo an intense reassessment of consicous awareness … and your mental state.

You begin to reexamine superficial appearances and question all that you encounter. I could not imagine how to make sense of my story without including the process of unfoldment to demonstrate that – no matter who you are or how tight you think your handle is on the “real” world, reality is relative. You will make mistakes and muddle through a few things before you get your bearings.  

Awakening to a world where multidimensional awareness is a part of the daily routine takes a bit of getting used to. I was left with the knowing that the world is multi-layered energetic arena and a much more entertaining place if we can allow for that – even if we can’t comprehend it. We truly exist in a space – in and out of time – and when we are granted more exposure to some of the shamanic realms – wonder unfolds exponentially.

Now here’s the review - mince excised – for your dancing and dining pleasure.

[Point of fact. I have had to make peace with the term "psychic" because I had not considered myself in that light. EVER. I go so far as to claim channeling, intuitive and shamanic abilities with a mystical approach. I thought I was telling the story as a Broadcast Journalist who went AWOL and found God... Might be why the reviewer needed to offer a redirect.

I hate to admit being annoyed at being called a psychic but I thought - right out of the chute  - the label misdirected the intent and the direction of the book.]

For these, the Energy received help from other spirits, whom Garrett had channeled before. To better understand this information, Garrett studied books by respected physicists like Stephen Hawking, and those titles are included in a recommended reading list.

Eventually, the Energy told the author, she would move on to a higher plane of pure energy and take on a physical form again. The spirit also transmitted positive messages about love and a touching message about the death of the author’s cat.

[True confession... this is where a lot of "helpful suggestions"... were minced..er...um...excised. I ended up with one good sentence. The words in bold are original. ]

Positive messages about a unique experience of spiritual awakening. 

And so it is.

Reminders on Timing

No matter how much insight we gain – rarely do we have the luxury of knowing which moment will be final. That is why each moment is a gift and regardless of how we view it on the surface… contains a silver lining when we choose to look and accept it as such. Those who show up in your life will reveal what you have kept in focus. For the best results pay attention and you will see the connection.

What are you thinking? Claim your power to create the life you intend and let no one determine your outcome. It is done when you are.

Guidance

Spiritual Guidance is not offered to preempt nor to exempt one from making mistakes.

Life goes on with all the ups and downs, quirks and surprises.

It means there is support to get through the process. 

Revising Your Course

      

Trust – You are Lighting your Way. 

It’s often easier to allow the crowd direction to determine the rules of life and success rather than exerting the energy, strength, and initiative required to escape the chains of a lock step chorus and engage with a higher source to chart your own course. 

Have the courage to question, investigate, and explore your view of “reality”, to value the unique soul that you are, and to refine the rough edges. Courting popular opinion usually requires a numbing down of soul; and the surest way to evaporation of soul and atrophy of heart is to remain forever locked-in-step.

You can succeed without the limelight. You can connect to spirit without a crowd. You can allow yourself to love without condition. And you don’t have to justify or prove any of it.

Heart wins Soul. 

Real winners require no trophies. They cannot help but reveal exactly who they are.

Magic in Between

Developing trust in your ability to connect with higher guides and guidance can be tricky. Sometimes the insight offered seems too good to be true, too simple to work and too easy to access, and the only way you know whether it is right for you is to honor the process and learn how to better connect with your inner source/insight.

The insight and inspiration is always there and – for that very reason – it can get tuned out or discounted because it isn’t deemed special when it’s just a part of the program. Actually, that is what makes it even better. The insight program code is unique to each and every manifest being; like snowflakes and fingerprints, it’s a one of a kind signature card for unlocking universal divine essence. And it comes with the package.

Is it really that easy to hear? Only when you listen. Outside a horn honks loudly – first one to honk today… (and in many days). 

What are you listening for? That, you will have to discover for yourself. Once you hear it – you will wonder how ever could you have missed it.

Higher Guides and Inner Sense

At times when there are no other humans present and you sense you have company – trust your gut. Having the awareness that you are not alone is the first sign you are in touch with your own intuitive sense.

Contrary to engendering fear or discomfort, development of this sense provides support for releasing fear, and a resource to allow one to relax and tap into those ever present spirit energies who offer help, inspiration, and guidance. (This type of energy form is not a ghost.)

The environment created when one is receptive and open to the experience of spirit energy is very nurturing and positive in terms of the reinforcement of the necessity of valuing self and all others. Developing the awareness of this presence allows for a more dynamic intuitive lifestyle and the potential for engaging an ongoing conscious awareness of spiritual support.

Through that engagement with spirit, we become open to the understanding of an expanded view of “us” as beings who – although currently manifest in a physical form  - also exist in a much larger state of energetic awareness. We too – are of the light. We do not die – we simply shift form – and return home. 

Whether we see it or not/know it or not, we are in constant presence of spiritual beings. Sometimes they step forward. Most often, they watch and guide without any attempt to make contact. When we are ready to know more – we do. 

Eyes Wide Open

The only time we are ever misled is when we refuse (for reasons too numerous to count and having nothing whatsoever to do with an external source) to see what is directly in front of us.  We can deny it or we can attach something to it; and in so doing, create an expectation that, in one form or another, a need will be met. It is then that we actively overlook the obvious to envision our desired view. 

So – knowing we cannot see a situation or a person with an impartial view while we hold any sort of judgment, bias, attachment or expectation – we learn to be much more accountable for our actions. Bottom line: we act/engage to achieve a desired result.

Rather than redressing the people, situations, and events that appear to lure us to the table, our inner desires are what we really need to question, evaluate, and assess. Ultimately, we are held accountable to ourselves.

And sometimes, after doing all that sifting and sorting to claim a firm hold on higher ground, there will be an even higher calling – so great that even though we can see the present encounter for exactly what it is and we know exactly why we should not engage:

because we are far too vulnerable –

we have failed miserably in past efforts and attempts –

and there may appear to be no external symbol of reward (possibly, quite the opposite, we will appear to be a failure) 

– that situation is our saving grace. It is our opportunity to enter a challenge awake and take effective, conscious action to forever break the cycle. 

Regardless the outcome, there will come a moment of engagement within that challenge that forces us to come to terms with our humanity. We will discover all of those things that make us weak and humble, also make us strong, resilient …  united … when we recognize them as common denominators. We are one.

At those times, we must trust that we have been summoned forth to learn how to walk through the fire and not get burned. Getting singed however, is part of the learning curve.
