Reviews revisited – the work in progress

 In cleaning up the clutter on my computer, I found a review of Talking to Nightlights that I had saved and filed away. Suggestions on how I could better present the topic were late in coming but appreciated none the less.

There is a reason I misfiled this review. To sum up: the reviewer – without mincing words – suggested I cut some of the personal process and tidy up the writing… make it a bit leaner.

I did some mincing on those recommended specifics in this version.

So – if the book goes on in another form - I can still do that. No doubt it would improve the selling points and make the message more commercially appealing. I have yet to do that. My experiences and the people who have connected to me as a result of what I shared have given me even more avenues of conscious awakening to explore and assurance that there are others who know exactly what I have undergone as they are having similar experiences in the rocking boat.

So it was what I needed to do at the time. The book is about sharing the very first transitioning steps of a profound, life-changing spiritual metamorphosis.    

As it stands now when you read it, it might be helpful to know that I chose to include some of the personal process in my book because I knew there would be others like me who had not been exposed nor prepared for this kind of metaphysical – supernatural – paranormal event and might appreciate hearing how it can just start…for absolutely no reason… and then shake up the very core of your life foundation.

It would have been better I suppose to have cut the excess description and make a tidier story but this metaphysical, spiritual awakening stuff doesn’t happen neat and tidy. When it happens, the world shifts, reality cracks and you undergo an intense reassessment of consicous awareness … and your mental state.

You begin to reexamine superficial appearances and question all that you encounter. I could not imagine how to make sense of my story without including the process of unfoldment to demonstrate that – no matter who you are or how tight you think your handle is on the “real” world, reality is relative. You will make mistakes and muddle through a few things before you get your bearings.  

Awakening to a world where multidimensional awareness is a part of the daily routine takes a bit of getting used to. I was left with the knowing that the world is multi-layered energetic arena and a much more entertaining place if we can allow for that – even if we can’t comprehend it. We truly exist in a space – in and out of time – and when we are granted more exposure to some of the shamanic realms – wonder unfolds exponentially.

Now here’s the review - mince excised – for your dancing and dining pleasure.

[Point of fact. I have had to make peace with the term "psychic" because I had not considered myself in that light. EVER. I go so far as to claim channeling, intuitive and shamanic abilities with a mystical approach. I thought I was telling the story as a Broadcast Journalist who went AWOL and found God... Might be why the reviewer needed to offer a redirect.

I hate to admit being annoyed at being called a psychic but I thought - right out of the chute  - the label misdirected the intent and the direction of the book.]

In 1997, Garrett, who’d had psychic experiences since childhood but kept them at arms length to maintain a normal daily routine, began the channeling adventure of her life when she discovered that a blinking nightlight conveyed messages from a spirit, whom she called the Energy.

A spiritual Deep Throat, perhaps the most revealing bit the Energy divulged is what Garrett could expect after her death, which she will experience many times before becoming a spirit like the Energy.

Several conversations were developed into discussions about science and metaphysics.
For these, the Energy received help from other spirits, whom Garrett had channeled before. To better understand this information, Garrett studied books by respected physicists like Stephen Hawking, and those titles are included in a recommended reading list.

Eventually, the Energy told the author, she would move on to a higher plane of pure energy and take on a physical form again. The spirit also transmitted positive messages about love and a touching message about the death of the author’s cat.

[True confession... this is where a lot of "helpful suggestions"... were minced..er...um...excised. I ended up with one good sentence. The words in bold are original. ]

Positive messages about a unique experience of spiritual awakening.

I want to return to information I have shared before and add emphasis to the power we have at any given time to shift our focus to improve the quality of our thoughts. A wonderful resource for how that works is Catherine Ponder. Her book Open Your Mind to Prosperity is an excellent tool in the development of prosperity consciousness and makes a solid case for the use of positive affirmations.

The most important part of her material is the bones of how it works. And it underscores a “fix-it” that “The Secret” and most of the current slew of Law Of Attraction courses omit.

From the source: “But unless you learn how to clear away the psychological blocks about prosperity, as discussed in chapter 1; unless you then learn how to cleanse your mind to make way for prosperity, as explained in chapter 2; and unless you follow this up by giving your prosperity a spiritual basis, as shown in chapter 4—just creating your prosperity mentally first is not enough. It may excite you into bringing about temporary results. Then you sink down into frustration and despair again as these results fade away, and you say to yourself, “It doesn’t really work.”

Positive thinking is a powerful influence but do not mistake influence for control. Other factors are also at play. You are responsible for your own thought and the outcome manifests as a result of that energy pattern. All is a work in process and progress.

At the intuitive level, there is awareness that all is in a state of flux. Each is creating his experience and the thoughts generated determine the output. When in touch with our intuitive gifts, we can learn to reign in our thoughts and manifest conscious change in our lives as we develop the ability to focus our energy and become in alignment with a desired outcome.

There are many opportunities to make conscious spirit or intuitive connections. In essence, we are in constant contact with the spirit plane but tune it out. As you learn to accept, reawaken or develop that ability, events appear to affirm the connection. In becoming more connected to the whole of life, the daily details become less concrete and more pliable.

In my case, an encounter with an energy that started appearing to me in conjunction with blinking nightlights was the catalyst for my reawakening to the metaphysical wonders of the world. I was instructed by spirit guides on how to channel and how to improve my intuitive abilities.

As the paranormal events multiplied in response to that education, so did my faith in God and a higher source. From that point on, I relaxed and just enjoyed the connection and the process. I lost my apprehension about dealing with paranormal events and moved forward.

The energy I connect with through the nightlight has a basic message – we are here in whatever form – (body or spirit) to learn how to love. When you want to know more, start questioning and see where that takes you. The same instruction comes from MANY sources. Esther and Jerry Hicks might be the most well-known: Ask and it is given.

Illumination – One hand clapping often leads to another.

Friday was a wonderful reminder that litte surprises can be worth the wait. First, the finished copy of Guy Finley’s Letting Go a little bit at a time arrived. And – on his website is my endorsement…it made the cut…at the very, very end of the list…and right before the link to read the book.

Then – because I called myself the Author of Talking to Nightlights – I checked out the book on Amazon… and what a shock to see a review… thank you for little surprises.

Talking to Nightlights: Channeling Energy and Awakening for Spiritual Insight – I highly recommend this book! It is excellent. Our paranormal group liked it so much some of our team members have bought a copy for themselves. A great read!

If I were an Amazon Customer I could reply – Hello and Thank you for a wonderful review. The events I talk about in the book changed my life path in 1997. My nightlights and my spiritual connection with the Energy has become even stronger. It is present wherever I am. And it can also be present with you (we are one and all connected in spirit consciousness).

I have posted videos on Youtube to give you an idea of how it works for me. The camera is set on auto and it phases out due to the presence of the energy. It is more obvious in the first video (08). In the current video (09), the Energy has managed to accomodate that dynamic and not interfere in the process.

One Act of Faith

When we are caught up in cycles - it usually implies a pattern. The only way to change the cycle is to break that pattern.

Rather than trying to change your entire life or belief system, which could set off a chain reaction of events you are unprepared to encounter, try changing one thing. Turn left instead of right, look up instead of down, say yes instead of no…. practice changing your mind and your reactions.

One tiny new act can change your life and open the door to a wonderful new cycle of growth…and learning. 

All In One

One of life’s greatest challenges comes when faced with a choice to follow one’s heart and the singular tone of a gentle inner knowing or succumb to the direction given by an overwhelmingly loud, and often demanding, external chorus. 

Given a chance to reason it through - consider: No matter how Large the crowd nor how deafening the Volume – Neither are proof the direction is right for you.

When given an argument that you might fail, counter – Success is not always the best teacher. 

Given the argument your direction has never been tried, counter – Someone has to go first.

Given the question, “How do you know?”, counter - How does anyone know? 

Given the threat, “No one will follow.” counter – Some things must be done alone.

Trust that you are where you need to be when you need to be. Wisdom is birthed through experience. All information prior to that is opinion or hear say. Science is relative.

You are here to determine Your Say… Your Way.

You are here to discover your “I Am.”

And That Information is in you.

Hindsight is a Myth

Action shifts awareness and energy.

Looking back and saying it might have been better to go a certain direction overlooks the constant presence of variables.

Each action shifts all in the scene. There is no guarantee a different action would have produced…no matter what the odds…the response you desired.

Much like throwing the dice one more time — after you decide to hold to avoid losing with the next throw — just to see if it would have been a good cast and assuming that outcome would have been the case. No. The energy shifted the minute you became unattached to the obstacle/outcome. The next roll was clean.

Work with the present. Obstacles are here to allow you to practice focus on attaining your desired outcome without fear, attaining the outcome from a state of safely holding onto who you are rather than what you already have, in addition to having a non-attachment to the obstacle.

And because neither position is real, the battle is within you.

Past, present, and future — are all housed in a fully aware Now.

The lights I see are such an enigma to me -

I have no answers for this seeing,

what is seen and my sense of it;

and yet, I have a new question every day!

I ask my soul for an answer and it comes.

Success is an Inside Job

There is no human alive who has the ultimate authority to tell you what you are capable of. You are required to demonstrate that. And for that, one must show up.

Who are you? Do you find out before you show up or after? You are who you create; and you find out during the process of showing up. There is no before or after because who you are does not exist in time. 

We exist in the present – and that gives us every opportunity to create the best possible outcome even if we are unable to stick around to claim it.  Or so it would seem.
