Days are often valued in terms of significant life achievements – Some grandiose thing happens and it is  then celebrated again and again…. all the other days are lost. 

But those days “when nothing happened” contain the jewels in the crown. They hold the moments we stood our ground, persevered, hoped, dreamed, wept, prayed, grieved, believed, learned, grew, began again, or simply turned around.

Celebrations should be held to honor the fact that life – goes on – no matter how insignificant the appearance of the day. 

Make time to Celebrate For No Reason and then you have reason to Celebrate any time you choose….

Life is our moment to celebrate living.

All In One

One of life’s greatest challenges comes when faced with a choice to follow one’s heart and the singular tone of a gentle inner knowing or succumb to the direction given by an overwhelmingly loud, and often demanding, external chorus. 

Given a chance to reason it through - consider: No matter how Large the crowd nor how deafening the Volume – Neither are proof the direction is right for you.

When given an argument that you might fail, counter – Success is not always the best teacher. 

Given the argument your direction has never been tried, counter – Someone has to go first.

Given the question, “How do you know?”, counter - How does anyone know? 

Given the threat, “No one will follow.” counter – Some things must be done alone.

Trust that you are where you need to be when you need to be. Wisdom is birthed through experience. All information prior to that is opinion or hear say. Science is relative.

To Dreams and Life

Reality Check

 The truth is there is more to ”reality” than we can possibly imagine.

Imagining more is a start.  

Focus

Epiphanies come at the most unexpected times. I had been puzzled by a commercial I saw on television. The woman wore the exact same dress I had worn in a dream… a dress I have never before seen, in a color I never wear. The tv situation involved an elevator, as had my dream. What? How? Why? A message.

As my mind wondered and wandered, I trolled some of my bookmarked sites for inspiration. Contemplating meanings of color and synchronistic dreams, a blog post on hunger stopped me. There I sat, eating a bowl of steaming macaroni – caught off guard, suddenly en-rapt.

The very last thing I expected was that a post about assuaging pangs of hunger with a stashed, six-day-old peanut butter sandwich could improve the flavor of my macaroni, but it did. 

Then I remembered an earlier insight I chose not to post – apparently, I needed a reminder. The more we have, the less we value. When all I had was a bowl of macaroni – and read about someone else struggling with self-imposed limitations, intense cravings, and pangs of hunger during a meditation retreat…. the flavor of the macaroni intensified. I also gained a new sense of satiation that had nothing to do with food. 

The message of the dream became clear. The color of the dress was the same as the macaroni. When I pay attention, heaven speaks and the earth moves; and the only thing I can say that makes any sense …. epiphanies always arrive unexpectedly. 

Flying Lessons

Wisdom of birds. No lectures, threats, abuse, or coercion. –

 

Young are taught through modeling, enticement, and encouragement

to act upon what they already know.

The Only Rule for Creativity?

1 – There are NO rules for Creativity.

When one is creating something from nothing, anything and everything is possible. Rules close the door on potential. Rules say No, Don’t, Can’t, Impossible, and Never. We have no idea what is possible unless we first try everything, including all supposed impossibilities. 

When to throw in the towel on finding someone to showcase your creation? Never. The problem is not you – nor is it the towel. It is visibility. Change the color of the towel and you might be surprised at all of those who had no idea you even had a towel…or a novel idea. Turns out the one you had been waving over and over … to anyone who would give you the time of day, inadvertently hypnotized them into a stupor.

People see what they want to see when they are ready to see it. When you have a novel idea and you stop waving your towel to showcase it…you lose… Change color and make bigger waves. Eventually, someone will see you. And soon you will become enlightened to the fact that you no longer have the luxury of being able to stop waving a towel. Now, you see, everyone will expect you to continue to wave your towel… (What about my novel Idea?)

A whole new catagory of creation comes from that silly predicament.

Be that as it may - No one can be you for you … So it is up to you to keep the faith in your creation and see it through. Start waving your colorful towel – that’s why we have so many colors to work with. Remember which one finally works for you but don’t make it a rule to only use that one…
